SC_Governor_Debate__kdavisthestate.com_4.highlight.prod_affiliate.74[1] Lt. Gov. Andre Bauer has endorsed U.S. Rep. Gresham Barrett in the Republican gubernatorial runoff on June 22.

Barrett is facing Lexington state Rep. Nikki Haley.

In a statement, Bauer said Barrett was the only candidate he could trust.

"I hope the media and the voters take these next two weeks to really look at the candidates: their real records – not just their rhetoric," Bauer said. "When they do they will find Gresham Barrett has been a committed conservative soldier in the movement against big government long before it was politically advantageous.

Gubernatorial_Debate__dmclemorethestate.com_8.highlight.prod_affiliate.74[1] "Haley has been misrepresenting her conservative credentials.  Specifically, publicly leading the fight for state government transparency while refusing to disclose campaign and personal finance information. Representative Haley's record fails to match her campaign rhetoric.  I urge my supporters to unite behind the honest conservative in this race: Gresham Barrett."

Barrett released runoff donors, income and tax records on Thursday. Haley's campaign has yet to release similar records, but said they plan to.

Bauer and Haley were frequent adversaries during the campaign, with Haley accusing Bauer of coordinating the yet-unproven infidelity accusations lodged against her.
